We invite you to the

2021 SDG Conference Bergen:
The SDGs after the crisis

10–12 February 2021

Urban Think Tank has partnered with the Global Research Programme on Inequality (GRIP) at UiB for the inaugural issue Motherland of the new Parangolè publication.

U-TT + GRIP are pleased to inform you that we are starting the new year with finalizing the work around an upcoming conference 2021 SDG Conference Bergen 10-12 February, where the inaugural launch of the publication will take place. GRIP is leading the programme committee of the conference and has managed to engage a great deal of exciting speakers (Daya Reddy, Kate Raworth and Edgar Pieterse among them, as well as your names are proposed) and panels focusing on inequalities and other issues close to GRIP’s work.

While the world has united behind the 2030 Agenda, rising global inequalities have long threatened to derail the progress made so far. Adding to this, the outbreak of COVID-19 has had devastating impacts across the world. Recognizing this global fundamental challenge, the 2021 SDG Conference Bergen focuses on tackling global inequalities, relevant for all of the goals, to achieve a new path for sustainable development, after the crisis.

Norway’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Ine Eriksen Søreide will be opening the conference.

In addition to debates and parallel sessions, keynote lectures will include:

  • Professor Kate Raworth, the author of the groundbreaking Doughnut Economics book, providing a visual framework for sustainable development
  • President Daya Reddy of the International Science Council
  • Director of the African Centre for Cities, Dr. Edgar Pieterse

The conference is FREE of charge and open to ALL who register!
